LilyMab's Tips on Beating the Heat

Ninja Lily is hot. Ninja Lily DOES NOT LIKE BEING HOT! And, to make matters worse, I am teething and a bit feverish. I got three new teeth in the last two weeks and two of them broke through yesterday. I am not very comfortable and have a lot of ninja rage. Here's how I'm coping:

• Screaming at Mommy. This has proved ineffective and gets me stuck in the playpen a lot. I could use my ninja skills to escape, but it's easier to just fall asleep.
  
• Parking in front of the fan. The closer I can get, the better. I have this theory that if I could just touch it, I would cool down completely. No one will let me test it, though.
  
• Crawling around in nothing but my Hello Kitty diaper pants. Thanks Auntie Jen, now I can be comfortable and cute at the same time.
  
• Taking cool baths. Splashing in the bath is fun. And, in two weeks, I get to see if it is even more fun to splash in the pool! Grandma Linda is taking me to swimming lessons. Dread Pirate Lily will be the scourge of the pool!
  
• Getting milk-faced. Basically you drink until you drain the bottle and then lie on the floor singing drinking songs. Mommy finds this particularly funny for some reason. Whatever, Mommy, it keeps me happy.
  
• Escaping to Grandma and Grandpa's. They have something called air conditioning. I like it. A lot.
  

Ninja Lily will be happy when this heat wave finally ends. But, now that I've cooled down a bit, I'm off to re-organize the DVDs into the Lily system. Mommy and Daddy like to have them "alphabetized," but I prefer to have them in a big pile on the floor. It's an ongoing battle to convince them, but the DVDs are really much more accessible when they are at my level.
